At A.E.R.O. Therapeutic Center, every space is thoughtfully designed with our students in mind. Our Burbank, Illinois campus provides a safe, supportive, and inspiring environment for children with diverse cognitive, behavioral, and physical needs. As the home of the A.E.R.O. Aviators, we foster a community where students can grow, learn, and thrive.
Our 150,000-square-foot facility brings students, teachers, and specialists together under one roof, removing barriers and ensuring every child has access to the support they need. Classrooms feature quiet areas and breakout spaces, corridors are designed to reduce sensory stress, and outdoor courtyards and playgrounds encourage exploration, physical activity, and social connection.
Classrooms provide ample instructional space while accommodating specialized equipment required by many of our students. Shared group rooms between classrooms support pull-out interventions and small-group instruction. Two secure courtyards offer visual access to the outdoors from anywhere in the building, giving students safe and engaging spaces to play, explore, and practice social skills.

Independence and life skills are central to our programs. In the Home Life Skills and Commercial Life Skills rooms, students practice daily routines, vocational skills, and real-world problem solving, building confidence and self-reliance. Therapists, nurses, and teachers are located throughout the building, providing immediate, personalized support.
From accessible playgrounds and sensory-friendly lighting to calming spaces, activity-based courtyards, and classrooms designed for engagement, every detail is intentional. A.E.R.O. is more than a school—it is a place of growth, achievement, and hope.
Here, students soar, guided by a dedicated team who celebrates their abilities and accomplishments. At A.E.R.O. Therapeutic Center, our Aviators take flight every day, reaching their potential in a community built just for them.
